"Karma is a bitch"

SYNOPSIS

A con artist gets caught in his own con when he poses as an angel to take advantage of strangers.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT

“Angels was written based on an actual experience that I had, whereby I attempted to help a man in need on the street. The man was inebriated, and struggling to sit up right at a bus stop. When another stranger and I were able to sit the man up, he asked me quizzically, “Who are you with?” I thought it to be a bizarre question as I was just a pedestrian lending a helping hand.
On my walk home, I pondered further, “what if I told him that I was angel send by god to help him clean up his act, but was really a con artist after his money?” And thus, “Angels” was born.
Shot on the RED camera, with a DP who operated a steadicam, I feel that “Angels” is one of my most intriguing works to date. Visually, the film is very captivating, but what people find so enjoyable is the karmic twists that leads the audience laughing a cosmic joke. It is transcendental plot structures like this that I find so enjoyable about filmmaking.”
